Shannon is a very talented artist who is immensely passionate about creating beautiful portriats & turning them into cherished wall art of loved ones looking their absolute best for your home. She feels every one should see how truly gorgeous lighting & corrective posing can make such a dramatic difference in how one thinks of themselves in how they look. Her clients often thank her for Photoshop-ing their trouble zones, not realizing it is their natural self. Fun photos & an esteem boost, who knew?!
About SVB... I've always found photography to be absolutely fascinating. There are so many elements that need to come together so harmoniously in sync to create an intriguing image, that it rivets me. I'm very detail oriented in creating my images, sculpting with light, & employing strong compositional elements. I thrive on the impact & emotion the images invoke when shown to my clients. I especially enjoy the opportunity to connect with all the people I photograph, the fun we have during the sessions while capturing them & and the ability to create image memories my clients cherish is simply amazing.
Her STORY...For several years I assisted other photographers with weddings, shot weddings as a second shooter, and did portraits for friends. Soon I had bridal couples preferring mine over the main photographer’s & tons of inquiries from just seeing my work, wanting to hire my talent. Then, one summer I was taking pictures for a friend in Maui, for a business venture of hers that pushed me into breaking out on my own. She had gotten an inquiry by a couple gallery owners, wanting to display my work I had shot for her of Maui in a local art museum. They assumed I was a well known international photographer & were hard to convince otherwise. I realized I should have taken the advice of the several photo professionals who had deemed my work as notable & encouraged me to go professional over the last few years. To go about it properly, I decided to enroll in a college photography program for the degree. After my first critique by my photography instructor, he pulled me aside in disbelief as to my enrollment intent. He said I "had a natural eye for composition" & a "rare gift" for photography. He said "someone could go to school for 10 years & still never acquire what you have naturally or produce the images you are producing right now". He felt I was already doing everything instinctively that I could possibly learn from formal instruction & to "stop wasting time taking formal courses & start accepting the jobs" already seeking me out. I'm forever grateful to his confidence building push into this business.
After all these years, SVB Photography, LLC continues to be 100% client referral. It has been such an amazing journey, I love it so much! I've been so blessed & I am grateful to God for this gift with photography that He has given me to grow with, enjoy & share in life. Thank YOU for visiting... I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy the wonderful journey of creating it!
